In the construction of the guitar, ESP combines a classic retro design with modern playing characteristics. Die Vogel-Gitarren (Gibson/Epiphone-Firebird, B.C. Rich Mockingbird, ESP Ltd. Phoenix) muss man lieben, denn praktisch ist diese Gitarrenform nicht. Wer sich zu dieser Form hingezogen fühlt, findet in der ESP LTD Phoenix Vintage White eine traumhafte Mittelklasse-Gitarre!
Die ESP LTD Phoenix Vintage White ist wie jede Vogel-Gitarre kopflastig, also ohne breiten, weichen und rauhen Ledergurt geht gar nichts. Hat man sich aber erst einmal daran gewöhnt, dass die Liebste ständig am Hals zieht, geht die Sonne auf. Seymour Duncan Custom am Steg und ein Phat-Cat P-90 am Hals, dass ist DIE klassische Rock-Kombination (naja , okay, eigentlich SH-1/SH-4, aber die hier ist auf ihre Art sicher genauso gut) . Clean, Overdrive, Distortion, auch Metal, sie geht überall mit. Der P-90 am hals steht ihr ganz, ganz ausgezeichnet. Da mulmt auch bei höheren Distortion-Leveln nichts. Der Custom an der Brücke ist im Overdrive/Distortion fett und Clean nicht dumpf oder verhangen. Klanglich kann diese Gitarre alles: Jazz, Blues, Rock, Metal, egal, die Gitarre ist nicht die Grenze.
Die Verarbeitung ist in dieser Preisklasse auf hohem Niveau. Das Griffbrett ist ein Traum. Setup und Bünde sind nicht zu bemängeln. Wenn nur alle Gitarren so wären...

Wer eine Super-Strat gewöhnt ist, wird zuerst einmal irritiert sein, wie die Gitarre am Gurt zieht. Das tun sie (= Vogel-Gitarren) aber alle! Hat man sich erst einmal daran gewöhnt, ist diese Gitarre eine echte Traumgitarre.

Passons tout d'abord aux points négatifs, le frettage est légèrement saillant d'un coté il faudra que je la peaufine, mais c'est jouable, au niveau du manche coté micro la couleur passe du jaune vanille à blanc, dommage pour une guitare de ce prix...
Maintenant les points positifs, l'esthétique est réussie, plus petite qu'une Gibson, Tokai, Epiphone, ce n'est pas plus mal, l'équilibre est normal pour ce type de guitare, les mécaniques blocantes sont fiables, et le son est... extra. le micro grave sonne très bien en son clair, même en jazz, en crunch ça bluese si je puis dire, et l'aigu sonne en crunch et en overdrive, pour la grosse saturation je ne peux pas juger je ne l'utilise jamais.
Je pensais que Ltd sonnait plutôt dans le registre métal, mais ce modèle sonne très bien en blues (je que je joue principalement) étant fan de Johnny Winter je suis vraiment content de ma Phoenix 1000, ça enrichit mon panel de firebird, et j'en suis ravi.
