Costs vary depending on the provider but the following information aims to give an example of costs based on Lancashire Music Service.
Nearly all schools pass some or all of the cost of small group or one to one instrumental and vocal tuition to parents. An example rate for this is £8.20 per pupil for a group lesson (based on Lancashire Music Service).
The Parental Direct Payment scheme allows parents to pay the Music Service directly for instrumental and vocal tuition. The lessons are delivered in school.

My most notable music projects of the past ten years have included playing guitar in the Metal band ‘Reckless Revolution’ at venues around Lancashire between 2009 and 20014. More recently I have been performing solo acoustic cover sets in pubs and clubs around the North West. I also write music. My recent release, entitled ‘Veil of Years’ is available for streaming/ download on Amazon and most other digital streaming/ download platforms. I began playing the electric guitar at the age of twelve and was driven passionately by an insatiable desire to master the instrument through my teens. My first choices in genre at the time were Rock and Metal. I helped to form a couple of bands whilst I was at school which prepared me to play a leading role in more serious projects later.
After having left school with an A+ in Music, I enrolled on Access to Music: Advanced Diploma in Popular Music Practice at Blackburn College where I joined a rock band consisting of other students on my course. We created Rock covers of Pop songs by the likes of Lady Gaga and Florence and the Machine, and performed at venues in the Blackburn area.

At the age of sixteen I passed grade eight on guitar and began to take on paying students. Many of those students went on to study at university and pursue music as a career.
During my time at the university of central Lancashire, I became acquainted with a diverse range of musical styles, I was involved in the composition of pieces of film music, writing background music for poems and art instillations, as well as several interdisciplinary projects. I became familiar with the influence of visual art styles on music such as pointillism, expressionism and modernism in composition as well as aspects of world music, particularly Indian Classical and I familiarised myself with the basics of several different instruments apart from the guitar. The culmination of my Bachelor’s degree was a final performance (Guitar and Tabla based) which embodied characteristics of Indian Classical music, and a
