Before the pair met, Randall was creating what the duo described as unpolished and raw Americana folkie music, while Lleshaj was writing more atmospheric electronic songs. Lleshaj stated, There was a definite overlap, and the sound that we have created as Flora Cash is a combination of how we have changed in terms of our individual tastes and how our synergy has grown over the years.

Randall conveyed a similar stimt, stating, The things we write about is our lives and our experice. We don't write music to appeal to a certain audice. We don't write music because we think it's going to sound good, that it's going to sell, or this or that. Everything that we've ever done is an honest expression of what we experice. There's aspects of it that sound differt, but that's because our lives changed betwe releases, so th we just wrote about what was honest, and we rolled with it.

Lyrically, the pair have oft drawn upon their own relationship for inspiration, and they oft touch upon themes such as coping with mtal health issues, governmt and social corruption, and coming to terms with oneself.

Route, on October 10, Randall inscribed his and Lleshaj's name on Pompeys Pillar, a 150 ft.-tall sedimtary rock formation best known for bearing the signature of Captain William Clark.
And placed under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Managemt, Pompeys Pillar was visited by hundreds of people who, over many gerations, had left their marks upon the rock.
The inscription made by Randall was on a small section of unmarked limestone about three feet from the glass-cased signature of William Clark.

Randall publicly apologized shortly after the incidt, stating that Lleshaj was undergoing a breast cancer scare at the time and that he saw the carving as a way to memorialize her in the evt that the worst-case scario came to pass. He is quoted as saying, I read the sign that explained why this place was significant and was utterly inspired by the last part of the description, which read, 'for gerations, Americans passing by this place have left their marks upon the rocks.' He added, I was motivated by the fact that maybe if something were to happ to my wife, I could come back to this place years from now and see hers and my name together.
Randall was charged with misdemeanor vandalism and agreed to pay restitution and a fine, though whether his inscription could be successfully hidd was unclear. The etching was not deep ough to use a composite material to fill in, so it was instead masked using paint materials.
Randall wrote in an email to the BLM and media outlets the following November, ...to the people of Montana and to every American who was affected by my foolishness, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me for this and realize that I understand the gravity of my mistake.Flora Cash have, recently, been signed to RCA, and are taking the opportunity, with their label, to build a music world that is, in essence, filled with Flora Cash. Yet, in watching their Bowery Ballroom show, I felt the electricity of such an opportunity.

As a duo, they teeter between wit and shyness. From Stockholm, they publicly proclaimed their love for New York’s constant activity; compared to back home where it is constantly chill. This statement explained the sifting emotions of their sound. On one hand, their songs can be synth-waves of folkish calm like, a Brooklyn baby sitting on the couch wondering wear his twenties are going. On the other hand, their tracks could zip you with a starburst rainbow of energy; making life feel like a rainbow of candy and you are not grabbing enough! Yet, that is what happens in life, we go from emotional highs of clarity to crashes of wonder, and Flora Cash soundtrack both.
From “For Someone” to “You’re Somebody Else” their music felt like an epic, digitized observance of how people work through your life, and it was grounded by Flora Cash’s voices and guitar. Shpresa Lleshaj’s voice feels as breathy as Blondie, which is why she wisps through the 80’s inspired synths and baselines she is in charge of making. Meanwhile, Cole Randall’s vocals feel as girded and gritted as a Kings of Leon song, which has his voice meeting the guitar perfectly. Still, the most exciting part of their show was hearing new songs that did not even have titles, and see them even mumble in giddiness and coyness: not knowing whether they should share their work but knowing they would.
Sonically, I am excited for Flora
