Definitely worth trying out, it has loads of sound variations. My only gripe is, the white labels are difficult to read, CPU usage could be better, though it's not high.

I have the Tim Henson which has an acoustic simulation amp (basically gives an electric guitar a piezo pickup sound)
I would only use an amp sim on an acoustic guitar if it was an electric acoustic and I was running a DI from a pickup on the guitar.

I ONLY use Neural DSP plugins for my guitar sounds, everything else I’ve tried was objectively worse, unless you’re using something like an Axe FX or the real tube amps they model their plugins after you will not find better and I say that with a lot of confidence

I would do anything possible to put a half decent microphone (preferably small, but large diaphragm would do too) in front of the 12th fret instead of having to fight the pick-up DI sound.
The only reason for using it for me would be if it is a live show or a live recording where spill and feedback makes it impossible - how come not feasible in your case, if I may ask?
I have found some heavy use of medium room IR based reverb on the insert (pre compression and EQ) may help a bit.

An AKG 451b, Neumann 184, Rode NT5 would do a great job and can be found used easily. Honestly there is no cure for DI sound plugin I know of that can completely save the day... in my experience... I did look with interest at the Fishman Aura when I needed to do a couple of acoustic gigs some time ago. For live situations it does seem like a decent solutions (it has an anti feedback thingy and a tuner too...), and the only interesting one on the market.
But - Probably with a few plugins you could replicate what it does after recording so I don't know how convenient it is as a purchase for tracking. (also not super cheap... much more expensive then an AKG 451AmpliTube Acoustic is the first tone studio ever made for acoustic players.
