I took all the music classes and didnt finish the academics. I would not recommend this to anyone, but it is the path i chose. My Applied Major was Voice, but my interest was far more diverse... I had a real interest in Music teory and understanding all I could about that subject. I went so far as to go to another college and take all the music classes from that as well..... its better to get a degree!

Every student is different and learn at a different pace... I would say 6 weeks would be an average time frame to see results if they practice dilligently.
Don't spend too much time on one area. keep intense focus for 5-10 minutes and move onto another area. example: 1. Practice the Melody for 10 minutes 2. Practice chords for 10 min 3. Practice arpeggios for 10 min...etc...

...a solo using only eighth notes, but at some point you’d want to create rhythmic interest. To create the example above, I started off by using the digital pattern 12357532. Not every measure is a strict reading of that digital pattern. I altered some notes to make each measure flow better into the next measure, and make the pattern sound better melodically overall.
