Solar Guitar founder and YouTube celebrity Ola Englund designed the Type G Series of guitars with gigging guitarists in mind. Combining decades of touring experience, he set out with the vision to create an affordable guitar with traditional flavours that offered a wide range of tones and optimised stability for stage performance. With great tuning stability thanks to the fixed bridge, a huge selection of sound through the Duncan Solar pickups which also feature coil-splitting and can be switched between running in series or parallel, plus 24 super jumbo frets. Unlike some vintage single cut guitars, the G-Series features a contoured cutaway where the neck joins the body which fits your hand as you reach up to the highest frets. The freedom to reach the highest frets without having to reach around the heel of the join matches the rest of the guitar's design that promotes fast and effortless playability.
Englund collaborated with Seymour Duncan to develop a pickup specifically for Solar Guitars. The Duncan Solar pickups are exclusive to Solar Guitars and compliment the guitar's alder body perfectly to create a tone with a tight low end and clear highs. Of course, they sound amazing overdriven, but Ola knew it was important for them to clean up nicely and the result is a pickup set that's versatile over a wide range of dynamics.
