You can’t beat the sound of a cigar box guitar. I love making them and have made a few custom cbgs for musicians around Montana. I think the cigar box guitar makers out there don’t get enough attention and so I wanted to highlight a few of the best!

Sean Kochel runs handmade guitar company, Kochel Guitars. I remember seeing this chap around the Missoula, Montana People’s (craft) Market when I was first starting my woodworking business back in 2013.

Daddy Mojo Guitars has a great presence in the world of cigar box guitars, making all sorts of custom, handmade guitars. With the standard 3 string variations on up to their 6 string variation, they have a lot to offer! Heute ist CBG ein Sammelbegriff, mit m auch aus anren Holzkisten in Eigenbau gefertigte Instrumente bezeichnet wern. Die frühesten Molle waren oft nur mit einer or zwei Saiten bespannt, die mornen hingegen typischerweise mit drei or mehr. Dieses Instrument ist eng mit m Blues, Jug und m Spiel mit m Bottleneck verbunn.
Cigar Box Guitars: Hol Den Blues Aus Der Kiste
R Aufbau einer CBG unterliegt keinen strengen Regeln, jedoch ist eine CBG normalerweise in Anlehnung an die Gitarre in die drei Teile Kopf, Hals und Korpus zu untergliern.
Ursprünglich war die CBG ein rein akustisches Instrument. Daher besteht r Korpus aus einem Holzkasten, r mit Schalllöchern versehen als Resonanzkörper dient. Aufgrund r Herkunft und Geschichte dieser Instrumente verwent man als Korpus traditionell Zigarrenkisten; aber auch je anre Holzkiste, die in Wandstärke und Größe vergleichbar ist, ist für n Bau geeignet.
